Engineers develop and improve products, infrastructures and systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Mathematics:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Mathematics is a fundamental science that studies relationships, quantities, shapes and abstract structures. One only has to open LinkedIn and search for job offers anywhere in the world to realise that<\/span><strong> demand for technology-related jobs is extremely high.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">STEM education is therefore essential for the students of today to be able to find a job that contributes to society and has good economic prospects for their quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"y-donde-quedan-las-humanidades-en-la-educacion-stem\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And where are the humanities in STEM education?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The role that the humanities should or should not play in STEM is a matter of debate. Without detracting from the relevance of the humanities in education, there are those who argue that <\/span><strong>no technical skills are worked on at all in humanities subjects.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> o <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hard skills <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that the market demands so much.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, it is more difficult to develop relevant STEM activities in the humanities, as they do not offer problems as such that need a specific methodology to be solved.
