Vibe Coding, AI-assisted programming and a lot of “Flow”.”

Hands up anyone who isn’t already a bit fed up with hearing about Artificial Intelligence all the time. It’s always ‘GPT-this’ and ‘GPT-that’… Copilot-all that other stuff – about whether AI is going to take our jobs, or whether it’s going to take over the world… It never stops. And just when you think you’ve heard it all, BAM! Another buzzword pops up in the development world:Vibe Coding.

More than just a methodology or stack technological; it is a paradigm shift which combines the developer’s intuition with the generative power of language models (LLMs), giving rise to a form of programming that it flows, improvises and adapts in real time to the context, the needs and the inspiration of the moment.

Unlike formal methodologies such as TDD, BDD or even the classical approach waterfall or agile, vibe coding It does not impose a rigid structure. It is based on the human capacity to to encode «with’ flow«, by harnessing the semantic and contextual input that LLMs understand and transforming it into functional code, data structures or even complete interfaces.

The essence of Vibe Coding

To put it more simply, theVibe Coding it’s basicallyprogramming based on intention, sensation or «vibe», supported or assisted by artificial intelligence.

What does this mean in practice? Well, instead of sitting down and “to chop” every semicolon, every loopfor, for each function in the code, you use AI by giving it a more general description, more of «high level», of what you want to achieve and that this “attend” in the generation of the actual code.

So, you ask the AI something along the lines of:

“I need you to give me the code in x language so that I can a function that extracts the data from this list of users (I’ve attached the relevant file), identifies those who haven’t paid for the past three months, sends them an email in a serious tone without being rude, and generates a report in a professional-looking PDF. And it needs to be quick.”
